Who's the Sicko?

I can't wait for Michael Moore's Sicko...

....In February, Moore took about 10 ailing workers from the Ground Zero rescue effort in Manhattan for treatment in Cuba, said a person working with the filmmaker on the release of “Sicko.” The person requested anonymity because Moore’s attorneys had not yet determined how to respond.

Moore, who scolded Bush over the Iraq war during the 2003 Oscar telecast, received the letter Monday, the person said. “Sicko” premieres May 19 at the Cannes Film Festival and debuts in U.S. theaters June 29.

Michael Moore will always be my hero for taking it to this corrupt administration before anyone else with the means had the cajones to do so.

When my little girl was born, a friend called to congratulate us. At the end of the phone call, she asked me how much the caesarian cost us.

Nothing. We live in Canada...I could hear her jaw hitting the floor across the continent.

Who is the sicko? Anyone who doesn't think national health care is a good idea.

Softball Season

Mr. Bush is hardly the first president to go before a friendly crowd during a challenging period. But he has done so several times in the last few weeks, even as some onetime allies voice worry about the White House creating the impression that he is cloistered, hearing only supportive voices. It was just such an impression last year that helped lead White House aides to put him before more critical audiences.

Dana Perino, a White House spokeswoman, said, “Stay tuned,” when asked whether Mr. Bush would be doing that again anytime soon.

She chided reporters in attendance at the session on Wednesday for “the rolling of the eyes and the smirking” during the questioning.

“What I observed was the looks of disbelief on some of the reporters’ faces — and I’ve seen it before — that anyone in the United States supports the president or has a different opinion from what is read in the newspapers,” Ms. Perino said. “People who have that feeling need to be validated and respected as well.”

Bush's Veto

The Democratic strategy: Chain them to the hull of the titanic.

Everyone knows the war is a disaster. Reid and Pelosi are forcing congressional Republicans to either cross the president or to go on record again and again as supporters of the biggest disaster of our lifetime.

When Democrats talk about Iraq, they're preaching to the choir of public opinion. When Republicans do, they accentuate their folly--and talking about anything else seems like re-arranging the deck chairs.

What a difference a congressional majority makes!
